With more than 100 registered clubs and organizations at Lamar University, students can easily pursue almost any interest. And if a relevant club does not already exist, students can always start a new one.

The Lamar Alive! student programming board is responsible for providing the campus with a diverse schedule of programs and extracurricular activities such as Homecoming, Rock around Clock, AIDS Awareness, Diversity Week, Lectures, Cardinal Comedy Corner, Poetry Night, and other special events. New Student Orientation kicks off with the Week of Welcome for LU freshmen.
The Freshman Year Experience is a unique leadership experience designed to recognize incoming freshmen who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to achieving their leadership potential.
Volunteer Opportunities
Cardinals C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance Reaching Everyone) is a program within the Office of Student Affairs at Lamar University dedicated to linking aspiring volunteers with an assortment of community service opportunities throughout Lamar University as well as the Golden Triangle through separate agencies.
Student Government Association
The SGA of Lamar University provides the official voice through which student opinion may be expressed as students participate in the overall policy and decision-making of the university community. Call 409.880.8891 for more information.
Campus Ministries
Several campus ministries provide fellowship, worship and recreational activities for Lamar students. Some ministries sponsor retreats, special programs and community services. Find a ministry for you.
