Leadership Development

Leadership Development programming serves as a resource on campus for student leadership development and partners with others to train, educate, and develop students for purposeful leadership. Leadership programming offers enrolled undergraduate and graduate students a variety of opportunities to advance their personal and professional skills, increase self-confidence and self-awareness, and network with other outstanding students. There is a wide range of programming offered to meet the leadership development needs of the diverse Lamar University student population.


Student Leadership ConferenceThe Student Leadership Conference is held each Spring semester and is open to all LU students. Workshops give attendees opportunities to develop their skills as emerging leaders. Past guest speakers include Olympians, LU alumni, and more.

Student Leadership SummitThe Student Leadership Summit is held each Fall semester and is specially designed for the officers and leaders of LU's student organizations.

The 2016 Summit featured topics ranging from the power of public service, fundraising, specialized officer training, and much more.
