Recreational Sports
The spacious Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center is 13,000 square feet of cardiovascular and free-weight training; a one-tenth-mile walking/jogging track; a 43- foot climbing wall; basketball, volleyball and badminton courts; racquetball, handball and squash courts; indoor soccer and floor hockey court, a wellness and fitness center; health food café and juice bar; lounge areas with pool tables; an outdoor putting green; and air hockey, foosball, video games and television. On-Campus Employment

Shuttle Service
This program provides transportation year-round near the immediate campus community, which encourages safety for students. The shuttle picks up students from various locations and runs on a set schedule. Call 409.880.2241 or click here for a schedule.
Career Planning
The Career Center is equipped with modern computer technology, providing on-line internet job search accessibility and computerized guidance assessment programs. The center has a full-time career counselor on staff to provide personalized assistance. Career planning services include: career consulting, career exploration, job search strategies.
Testing
Lamar University Career & Testing Center is a national testing site for Prometric and Pearson Vue. The Career & Testing Center offers a full range of testing services for aptitude and achievement and coordinates testing required by the university and national testing institutions.
